Tom Horn: ‘It’s a sad day for me’ as Eagles lose to Panthers
- September 2, 2021
The Eagles’ win over the Panthers was one of the biggest upsets in the league.
It was a reminder of how far we’ve come and how far our fanbase has come since the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2014.
But as they’ve now dropped five of their last six, the losses have become increasingly difficult to take.
Tom Horn has said that it’s a “sad day for him” and it will take time for him to get over the loss.
Horn was asked what it was like for him when the Eagles lost to the Panthers.
“I was devastated, absolutely devastated,” Horn said.
“It’s hard to put into words, but I had the most wonderful time.
I’m just glad that I can’t say much else.”
Horn added that the Eagles have been on a “great run” in terms of winning.
“That’s what we’re striving for, to get to a place where we can win more than we lost,” Horn told SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“And obviously the loss to Carolina was a loss for the Eagles.
It’s a big blow.
We’re going to work on it.”
Horn said he didn’t feel the Eagles’ losses were all that bad, but they’ve had to adjust to them.
“You know, it’s hard, you know, to digest,” Horn explained.
“But I know that we’re trying to improve on it and get to that point.
We have to continue to be the same.
We’ve just got to continue that progress, because we’ve got a long way to go.”
Horn also touched on the Eagles having a “huge” year on defense.
“We have a lot of young guys, a lot to learn and a lot more to go,” Horn added.
“If we get the right balance of players and the right pieces, we’ll be a very strong defense.
We know that.”
Horn spoke about the Eagles being in the playoff race with a week to go.
“They’ve got the biggest cushion, they have the best defense,” Horn noted.
“Our offense has a lot, but we also have a bunch of young players who can take advantage of those guys.
We just have to find a way to get the job done and continue to play like that.”
Eagles fans need to tune in to SiriusXM on Sunday to hear Horn’s thoughts on the team’s upcoming schedule.
