Lena Horn is a ‘hero’ and a ‘great mother’ for her daughter Lena
Lena Horn, the daughter of comedian and actress Lena Dunham, was a standout at the 2018 Grammy Awards and has garnered widespread praise for her performance.
In an interview with The Guardian, Horn, who is the youngest child of comedian Dunham, said her mother is a “superhero” and “great mother” for her daughters.
“I’m very grateful for my mom.
She’s just amazing.
I’m very, very lucky to have a mother like that,” Horn told the publication.”
She’s just so humble and so good and so loving and just a super hero to me.
I just love that.”
The 18-year-old, who also won an Emmy for Best Female Vocalist for “Trainwreck,” also said she was “very proud” of her mother for giving her her first acting gig.
“Her acting career is one of the reasons I’m doing what I’m getting to do, and her acting career gave me my first acting career,” Horn said.
“It gave me a lot of confidence.
She gave me confidence that I could be an actor, and I’m proud of that.
It’s something that my mom really, really supported me with.”
The young actress said her father, Chris, was “a big influence” on her acting and singing.
“When I was younger, my dad was like, ‘Mom, you gotta keep your voice high and keep it straight,'” Horn said, adding that his influence “did something” for the two of them.
“And he was very clear in that, and he just told me, ‘If you don’t do it right, then you’re not going to be successful.'”
“I always knew that it was a big deal that my dad had a hand in my life.
But I never really knew about that before.”
Horn, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for “Insecure,” also discussed her experience in the aftermath of the Charlottesville violence.
“Being in the middle of the riots, and just being scared,” she said.
“And people were calling us names.
People were screaming at us.
And I was like like, I don’t know, what’s going on?
I don´t understand it.
I mean, it was just terrifying.
And then there were the people who were just trying to help and doing their best.””
It was a scary moment in my childhood.
I didn’t have any of my own experience, and when I think about what that was like growing up, I was scared and confused and confused,” she continued.
“I think the fact that my family had to be there, and it was so difficult to be on your own, I think it was really hard.”
